March 28th, 1934 - July 22nd, 2023
With immediate family by her side, Joan Elizabeth van Vliet lost her valiant and tough battle peacefully with cancer on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in her 89th year at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie.
Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Kerr (1989). She is survived by spouse Co van Vliet and brother Jim Sanderson. Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan leaves behind her beloved Son Wesley (Melissa), 3 Grandchildren Sarah (Mike), Matthew (Amanda), Katelyn (Blake), and 5 Great-Grandchildren Matthew, Arya, Nathan, Daxton, and soon to be born Chloe.The family wish to thank Hospice Simcoe for the tremendous care and support that was provided, especially Robyn RN, Lori RN, Jessica PSW, and Sara PSW. Thank you to Dr Jacky Lai for your care, support and immediate availability. At Joan’s request there will be no funeral.
Visitation will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice Simcoe.
