Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Matthew’s House Hospice in Alliston, Ontario on July 17, 2023 at 84 years of age.

Loving wife of the late Joseph Tressler, beloved mother of Michele (Andy) Beach of Clinton, N.Y., Martine (Jerry) Legate of Innisfil, Ontario, David (Sylvana) Tressler of Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Very proud Grandmother (Mama/Mammo) of David, Cassie, Johnny, Grace, Kristian, Daniel and Athena.

Daughter of the late Felix and Mathilde (Renis) Buelens of Leuven, Belgium.

Betty was born in Belgium on September 15, 1938. She emigrated to Canada when she married Joe in 1959. Up until the day she died, her greatest love was her family. Betty was a parishioner at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Newmarket and a member of the CWL, active in PROBUS and a volunteer at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Until later in life, she enjoyed skiing with her family at Beaver Valley Ski Club. For the past several years, she looked forward to her weekly bid euchre games with her friends.

The family would like to thank Southlake Regional Health Centre and Humber Reactivation Care Centre for Mom’s care the past few months.

Our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to Matthew’s House Hospice in Alliston for their exceptional, compassionate care of Mom and support of her family in her final days.

Celebration of life gathering will take place at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Monday July 24, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket on Tuesday July 25, 2023, at 10 a.m.
