Nora Serallegri, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Hospital early in the morning of on October 28, 2023. As the sun rose over Newmarket, it was as if nature itself was paying tribute to a woman whose light touched the hearts of many.

Nora was born September 26th, 1948 in Athens, Ontario, and her life's journey was a testament to her unwavering strength and boundless love. She shared 52 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Frank, and together they raised a loving family. Nora is survived by her two children, Marcy (Jon) Sanderson and Matthew (Loretta) Serallegri, who will forever cherish the love and guidance she provided.

The bonds of family were always close to Nora's heart, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. One of Nora's greatest joys in life was her beloved granddaughter, Allegra, whom she adored and the bond they shared was beyond words. She was one of nine siblings, survived by her brother Patrick and sister Linda to carry on the family name. Nora was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews from the Niagara area, always there with a kind word a warm smile and the best hugs.

Nora's life was marked by the many close friendships she cultivated over the years. From her early days growing up in Welland, to starting her family in Guelph, she had an uncanny knack for forming lasting connections. Nora worked at Fiberglass in Guelph, contributing to the family's well-being while at the same time dedicating herself to her children's upbringing.

In 1980 the family moved to Newmarket, where she embarked on a successful career in real estate. After retiring, Nora and Frank ventured into the world of entrepreneurship, opening of all things a tanning studio. This endeavor allowed Nora to do what she loved most - connecting with people and sharing laughter. She had an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room and brighten even the darkest days.

Nora had many passions in life, including her love for the pool, exciting visits to the casino, and the traveling, visiting beaches or family in Italy. She was beloved by her extended Italian family and proudly embraced her Italian heritage with her culinary skills, which were “molto very good.”

Nora's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be a beacon of love, laughter, and cherished moments. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her. Nora's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will forever be a reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived.

Rest in peace, dear Nora. You will be forever missed and forever loved.

A celebration of Nora's life will be held at The Sharon Temple on Friday November 10th service at 5:00 pm followed by Celebration Casino at the Temperance Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Southlake Regional Hospital Intensive Care Unit in her memory.
