After a long and rewarding life Bjorg passed away at the age of 85 at Southlake Regional Hospital on Friday, February 9th, 2024.
Bjorg was born near Bergen, Norway on September 2nd, 1938 and grew up on a picturesque farm in a hamlet that bore her ancestral name, Midtun. Coming to Canada in 1960, she remained a Norwegian at heart and loved the many trips she made back home to visit her entire family and friends.
As an artist she captured the Canadian rural spirit in her many paintings and her folk art beckoned to her Norwegian roots. As an avid downhill skier she enjoyed all the Canadian winter had to offer and spent her winter weekends on the slopes.
Bjorg enjoyed many lifelong friendships in both Norway and Canada and maintained close knit and meaningful relationships with those who surrounded her.
Bjorg is survived by her husband Norbert of nearly 60 years and her son Eric (Barb). She was the proud grandmother of James and Thomas and will be missed greatly by her remaining siblings Margun, Tone, and Svein (Evelyn) in Norway. She is predeceased by her siblings Inger Johanne (Magnar), Olav, and Arne and her parents Bjarne and Birgitte.
The family will be planning a private celebration of Bjorg‘s life when the weather warms up in the spring.
