Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Monday, September 11, 2023, in his 79th year. Loving husband of Carolyn (nee Chambers) for 56 years. Beloved father of Rachelle (Christopher Grossi) and Timothy. Proud grandfather of Ethan and Nolan. Survived by sister Nancy (Thomas Dell - predeceased) and predeceased by brothers Leo and Robert. Dear son of the late Wilfred and Eva Phaneuf. Special thanks to the caring staff at Southlake. James was a Chartered Professional Accountant life member.
Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket on Tuesday, September 19th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. & Wednesday, September 20th from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church, 414 Ontario St, Newmarket on Wednesday, September 20th at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St John Cemetery.
If desired, any memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Arthritis Society or Southlake Foundation.
