Born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 25, 1948, John MacLeod Miller passed away peacefully, with his wife and daughter by his side on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Predeceased by his parents William and Helen Miller. Beloved husband for 50 years to Margaret. Loving father of Ian, Michelle (Arnold) and Chris (Kate). Cherished grandpa of Troy and Cruz. Survived by his brothers Graeme (Lori) and Stuart (Teresa), as well as his in-law’s Carole, Andy (Gayle), Cookie (Wayne) and Lisa. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins and his special friends including Martin and Marian, Garth and Irene, Wally, David and Andrea, Neil, Lesley and Tony.
Having multiple health challenges over the years, John always tried to remain high-spirited. A special thank you is extended to the many doctors, nurses and caregivers who treated John with compassion and provided care to him, especially those at the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre and during his time at Erin Mills Lodge.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive Newmarket, on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. The family kindly requests that those attending wear casual attire and bright colours or a Hawaiian style shirt if you have one!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Southlake Foundation.
John fought a good fight and is “Off to Margaritaville”.
While the family wishes you could all be with them in their time of loss, they appreciate your kind words and condolences.
