June 10th, 1930 - August 28th, 2022

Left this world with grace, with several family members by her side on Sunday August 28' 2022 after living a very full life these past 92 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Everett after 46 years of marriage. Beloved mother of Pamela (Norman Dupuis), Garry (Colleen), Brian (Wendy Blundon), Patrick (Donna), and Lyn (Katherine Porter). Proud grandmother to Kyle Kieran (Liz), Brianna Whitteker (Cody), Braden, Cassandra and Leah. Great grandmother to Hayden Kieran, Raya Whitteker and Quinn Kiernan. Eldest daughter of the late George and Ethel Cutting. Survived by sister June (Laurie Sitwell), but pre-deceased by sister Eleanor Fiander and brothers Clarence and Lorne.

Doreen grew up in Toronto with a sharp mind and was a keen student of so many things - including steel guitar and Latin! Shortly after meeting Everett, she relocated with her parents to California for several years before returning to Canada to wed the love of her life and start a family of her own. Doreen’s faith in her Lord Jesus Christ had been a guiding light through her life. While raising 5 children in the country she kept her mind sharp by book-keeping for several different companies, and hands always busy with canning, weaving, crocheting and gardening. Along with Everett she helped design and build 3 different family homes! Both a gifted organizer and motivator, Doreen led the Ontario chapter of the Women's Institute and always enjoyed socializing with her many friends there.

During their retirement years she travelled with Everett to all corners of Canada, Ireland and the US, but they were always drawn back to the beautiful home they built in the forest just outside Algonquin Park where they hosted countless family gatherings.

Heartfelt thanks from Doreen's family to the remarkable staff at Fairmount Home in Kingston who treated her with such care, love and dignity in these final years that have been so challenging for us all.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket on Friday September 2nd from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Funeral service in the chapel immediately following at 11:30 a.m. followed by a short reception, then interment at the Queensville cemetery that afternoon. Link to Doreen McMillan Service
