Wayne Peter Martin passed away suddenly Monday October 23, 2023, at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket.

Wayne was born in Sturminster, UK on July 12, 1971. His childhood was filled with many fond family adventures with his siblings Jackie, Tracy, and Stephen. With his parents Mary and Victor, they were a close-knit family. Wayne married his high school sweetheart Sarah-Jane and they had two beautiful children Cameron and Jennifer. Wayne’s proudest accomplishment was his children, he loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children, hearing about all of their accomplishments and laughing with one another, sometimes at his expense.

Wayne worked as a Pressman both in England and in Canada. Wayne loved motorcycles and was an avid rider most of his life. Wayne was a gentle soul, he was kind and good hearted. He loved nature and animals of all kinds. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his family. Not to mention his new found love of Puma shoes, most noticeably his toothpaste shoes, as Cameron would call them.

In recent years Wayne embraced a new chapter in his life with his Fiancé, Lisa. Wayne enjoyed travelling and was able to visit England last year and Cuba with Lisa, new shared experiences for both of them. Wayne was happy planning his future and their new adventures together.

Wayne is survived by his ex-wife Sarah-Jane Martin (Orupabo), children Cameron and Jennifer Martin, and his Fiancé Lisa Fowler. Wayne is survived by family in England including his mother Mary Trimby, siblings Jackie & Kevin Weeks, Tracy Bendoraitis, Stephen & Helen Martin, along with his many nieces and nephews.

While Wayne left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family and friends will be felt for many years to come.

A celebration of life service will be held in his honour, Taylor Funeral Home in Newmarket, Wednesday November 1, from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Donations in Wayne’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
