LEMMENS, John Willem

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John Willem Lemmens at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was 91 years old. John's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

John was a dedicated and loving father to Peter Lemmens, Diana Campbell-Lemmens (Jeremy), and Rick Lemmens (Colleen). He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Keith (Lilli), Deanna (James), Shannon, and Brigid. His legacy extended to the youngest generation as a great-grandfather to Ethan Campbell. Among his many roles in life, John held a special place as a beloved brother to Simon, Wim, Riet, Harrie, Piet, Anneke, Miet, and Bart. He was the dear son of the late Piet and Maria Lemmens.

John was born on January 23, 1932 in Holland. John's life was marked by his passion for soccer, which he wholeheartedly enjoyed from all angles, including as a coach. In addition to his love for the beautiful game, he found solace and joy in woodworking and the camaraderie of playing pool. Yet, above all, John's greatest source of happiness was the time he spent with his family.

A celebration of John's life will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, located at 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to make a donation to a charity of your choice. As we gather to remember and honor his life, let us reflect on the profound impact he had on our lives and the countless memories we shared with him.

John Willem Lemmens touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. He will forever be remembered for the love he gave to all those fortunate enough to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
