"Salim Issa Jouaneh, of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 18th, 2024. He was a devoted and loving husband to Laila Habash (Jouaneh), in their 50th year of marriage. Proud father of Issa (Veronica) Jouaneh, Louay Jouaneh and Samer (Jennifer) Jouaneh; cherished brother, and beloved grandfather (Jedo) to Nadia, Lila, Kate, Salim, Alina, Noah, Lana and Will.
Son of Issa Jeries Jouaneh and Hortence Dahood Abu-Eldam, Salim was born September 29th, 1935 in Ramleh, Palestine. He graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked at Middle East Airlines in Lebanon and Bombardier in Canada. Salim loved to travel, was always committed to his work, and valued his peace of mind. He was a kind, generous and compassionate man who left behind a legacy of love and sacrifice for his family. He was a life-long Christian who attended Victory Baptist Church.
He will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 23rd, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home.
