Passed away peacefully in his home in Newmarket, on Sunday, April 30th, at the age of 68.
Loving father of Vanessa (Jason) Snita. Proud grandfather of Izabella. Brother of Georgina (John) Gibson and Heather (Tad) Pierscianowski. Dear son of Dorothy and the late John Hutchinson. He will be missed dearly by his many nieces and nephews. Ian was an accomplished sports journalist and a staple of the Newmarket community.
He wrote and was an editor for many different publications through his accomplished career including Score Canada and The Toronto Sun. He was also the proud recipient of the Golf Ontario Hall of Fame’s esteemed Lorne Rubenstein Media Award and Golf Canada’s Distinguished Service Award.
Friends and colleagues are invited to celebrate his life at Woodington Lake Golf Course, 7110 4th Line, Tottenham, Ontario L0G 1W0 on Monday, May 15th from 1 pm to 4pm.
