Sheila Lynn Houlahan, age 70, passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Sheila was born in Toronto, Ontario; she lived in Newmarket, Ontario, attending Huron Heights Highschool. Sheila worked for over thirty years at the Land Registry Office in Newmarket and was a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Newmarket Legion Branch 426.
Sheila was predeceased by her parents, John and Loretta Houlahan and her partner, Jim MacWilliams. Sheila was a beloved and cherished sister, aunt and friend.
She will be dearly missed by her sister, Patricia Bales (Stephen) and her nieces Stephanie Bales (Frank), Jennifer Kennedy (Ryan) and her great-nephews John, Nolan, and Logan. Along with her brothers John Houlahan (Pat) and Jim Houlahan (Diane) and their children Matthew, Michael, Liam, Bryher, and Arlyn.
Sheila was a fun loving and generous friend. She had many adventures over the years and shared many of her travels, birthday meals and a good Caesar with bestfriend Maureen (Mau) Marsden. Her favourite destinations included Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Mexico.
Sheila was a quick learner and very creative. She would share her creations with friends and family; including her needlework, crocheting, baking, and scrapbooking.
Sheila loved to spend time with her family, especially her great nephews and enjoyed following their sporting events.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
