Holditch, Durward B. (James), lumberjack, steelworker, mechanic, carpenter, and Great Lakes fisherman, passed quietly from this earth at 3:30 pm 11 Sept 2018. Beloved son of the late William John and Ettie Mae Holditch, he is survived by sisters Julia Hayden and Grace Harwood, and brother Emerson (Marie). He was predeceased by sisters Hazel Lane, Myrtle McGregor, Lena Polowniak, and Ruby McKee, and brothers James (Sonny), Gordon, and Edwin.
Widower of Eva, Mother of Billy (Rose – deceased) and Verna McIntosh (Dale).
Widower of Irene, Mother of Randy (deceased)(Carolyn), Sharon Cameron (Don), Daniel (Ruby), Elinor McInroy (Bill), Sherry Dubé (Ron), and David John.
He is survived by 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
For the past 10 years of his retirement, he was involved with the Newmarket Church of the Nazarene, primarily working on the Samaritan’s Purse ministry “Operation Christmas Child.”
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Active Medicine and Palliative Care at Southlake Health Centre, Newmarket, for nine weeks of attentive care.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration to be held at the Newmarket Church of the Nazarene, 79 Main Street, Newmarket, ON, 11 October, with Visitation 10am-11am, Celebration 11am followed by luncheon hosted by the Hospitality Committee.
