24-Feb-1936 - 25-May-2022

With much sadness we announce the passing of Frederick Fabian Hermack on May 25, 2022 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Fred or Grandfather left this world surrounded by his loving family and on his own terms. Fred was born in the small town of Glace Bay, NS where he met, courted and wed his “Beautiful Bride” Alice Wadden in 1957.

A gifted athlete throughout his life with opportunities for a career in sport Fred instead chose to leave the east coast to begin a family with Alice and establish himself in the insurance business where he spent over 40 years building a successful practice in Toronto and Markham. A proud family man Fred is remembered by all as a loving father who always wanted the best for his family, friends and everyone who took the time to sit and talk with him.

He was a wise council whose advice was sought after and respected by all, a true sportsman who gave everything for his teammates and never cheated the game, a valued member of the community who used his people skills to raise money for many local causes including the Markham-Stouffville Hospital, the Unionville Festival, street dances and many sports related activities that enriched the lives of so many.

Fred’s legacy lives on in his family just as he wanted it. Predeceased by his oldest child Fred III, he leaves behind Lynn Hermack, his son Ian (Sharon) his daughters, Kim Anderson(Steve), Brenda Adams, (Charlie) and Alison Evans, (John). He will be missed forever by his many grandchildren, Freddy IV (Chelsea), Elyse and Caitlyn Hermack, Jessica (Jack) and Jillian (Chris) Hermack, Tyler, (Nicole) and Jaimee Anderson, Garrett and Shane Adams and Cassidy Evans along with many other family and countless friends. A life well lived.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
