Passed away peacefully at Eagle Terrace (Newmarket) on February 21st, 2024 in his 85th year.
Loving husband of Mary Lou. Beloved father of Michael and Drew. Loving Papa of Evan, Alex, Danielle, and Michael Jr. Survived by siblings Gerald, Anne, Sheila, Linda, Frank and Don. He was predeceased by his late brothers Terry and Gregory, and his parents Albert and Marguerite Gravelle.
Bert dedicated his life to education. He received both his Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Education from Queens University. For over 35 years, he served as a beloved teacher and librarian, touching the lives of countless students in Newmarket who fondly remember his impact.
He found immense joy in playing golf, a sport that brought him countless hours of relaxation and camaraderie on the green. A true sports enthusiast, Bert was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Yankees, finding excitement and connection through their triumphs and challenges on the field and the ice.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Eagle Terrace, particularly those on the second floor, for their exceptional care and support during Bert's time there.
