We are devastated at the loss of a beautiful soul, Janice Marie Fleming Gole, born in Whitby November 7, 1962. Left to grieve her passing is her beloved husband of 25 years, Dr. Robert Gole, her adoring sons Redmond, Galen and Montgomery, her proud parents, Mom, Joyce Fleming and Dad, the late Don Fleming, loving sisters Shelley, Alison, Liza (Dave), and favourite nephews Magnus and Murdoch. Waiting by her chair is her “little angel”, her puppy Georgia.

Also very much loved by her in-laws Richard, Reginald, Andrea and their families.

Janice grew up in Whitby as the spirited second child of four girls where she developed her passion for words and writing, music and sports. A beautiful person, inside and out, she was the life of the party and lit up the room with her incredible style, grace and humour. She was brilliant, with a quick wit and repartee that was intelligent, quirky and always funny. She had an incredible memory and a way of making everyone feel special by remembering personal details and enveloping them with her love. Jan had a big shoulder and always had the right words. Her dedication to her friends was unwavering, as far back as grade school (K.Rowe “the Fairies”), throughout high school (HSHS) and the University of Western Ontario. If Janice was your friend, you had a sister for life.

Jan loved high school and took her passion for academics & athletics to the University of Western Ontario where she graduated on the Dean’s list in Phys. Ed & Business, and was Captain & MVP of the varsity volleyball team. Although her athleticism led her to UWO, it was her business sense (a passion shared with her Dad) and love of fashion, that led her to the fashion industry.

For a decade she excelled in selling for major designers until she created her own company, Morega Agency (named after her sons) representing international designers in Canada. As owner/director for 20 years, Janice built a successful business with her 3 sisters, Dad, and newfound friends/employees. Jan’s presence and clothing were spectacular; her nicknames, spontaneity and sayings hilarious, and her ability to create an entertaining environment made work fun. Her sisters adored her and treasured the gift of working along side her for 20 years.

The highlight of Jan’s life – her greatest love and masterpiece - was her family. She loved being a wife to Rob and a Mom to her three amazing boys. Whether it was entertaining at her favourite place, the cottage on Lake of Bays, cooking beautiful meals (a passion she shared with her Mom), family trips around the world, or watching the Leafs on tv, she was most happy just being with her family. Their time together was precious to her. Jan loved her children more than life itself. She was so incredibly proud of the young men they have become.

Janice had a huge heart full of kindness and a generosity beyond compare. She lived every day with passion and curiosity and was a force of nature in the best way. Her lifelong commitment to fitness & health were challenged in her final days but she faced them as an athlete with determination, courage and unfailing resolve. Her family and friends are so proud of her strength and how hard she fought to stay with her boys.

Janice was so deeply loved and will be missed immensely.

Rest in peace sweet Janni…
