Passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Wednesday April 17, 2024.
Loving wife of John Kennedy for 12 years. Survived by her mother Shirley Gapp and sister Lynda (Murray) and niece Jenifer and nephew Brandon.
Cathy was born and raised in Newmarket, ON. She graduated Huron Height SS before moving on to the University of Toronto graduating in Political Science. Cathy’s passion was politics, noticeably Government Relations. She worked several years for the Ontario Health Minister at Queens Park. Twice as Senior Policy Adviser and once as Chief of Staff.
Cathy was also Senior Policy Adviser for the Canadian Cancer Society and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical.
Cathy’s other passion in life was her love for collies. Over the years she had 5 of them, all sables and all looking like Lassie.
The loss of such a remarkable individual will be hard to overcome, if ever possible. Her unwavering kindness, wisdom and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
There will be a private family only service with a Celebration of Life down the road. When the date and venue have been finalized people will be notified.
