We are sad to announce the passing of Gunther Jacob Frisch, 80, of Queensville, ON on January 30th, 2024. For years he battled cancer, putting up a valiant fight. While we are saddened by this loss, we are at peace knowing that he is no longer suffering. Gunther was born to Michael and Emma Frisch (nee Hubert) on September 13th, 1943 in Vienna, Austria. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1953, where they settled in Toronto.
Gunther is survived by his wife, Marylyn (married over 54 years) and their two children, Michael (Stephanie) of Ontario and Stephanie (Mike) of New Brunswick. He was a proud Grandpa to Tanner. He will be missed by his grand-cats (LeMew, Emmett, Matilda and Tink). He loved when they visited. He is reunited with his father (d. 1961), his mother (d. 2013) and his sister, Susan (d. 2019).
He was a member of the I.B.E.W local 353 for over 50 years, where he met many co-workers who became life-long friends.
Gunther enjoyed spending time on Manitoulin Island with friends, hunting and being outdoors. We all know how much he enjoyed that time and he considered it his happy place.
Cremation has taken place. No funeral is planned, as per his wishes. A celebration of life will happen at a later date.
