15-Aug-1940 - 21-May-2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beautiful Monica, beloved “Mom”, “Granny”, “GranGran”, “Gran”, “Nanny” and “Great Gran”, who lost her brave battle with cancer at home, with her family by her side but not before earning her wings to soar to Heaven and reunite with her parents, John and Elizabeth McLaughlin and her twenty brothers and sisters.

Born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, she settled, married William and started her family in Toronto.  She made the world a better place, rich with love, laughter, shenanigans, spirit and kindness and by accomplishing so much.

For thirty years, Monica was a loyal and hardworking employee of Canada Post, where she developed many lasting friendships.  She enjoyed travel and trying new activities. She spread her generosity to the Church, family and those in need.  During retirement nothing brought her more joy to her than her six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and all the fur babies that became a part of her family.

Monica is survived by her loving husband William, her loving children; Billy, Darlene, John, Tracy and her husband Joe, grandchildren; Eryn, Hailey, Taylor, Daniel, Jonathan, JaynaMarie, great-grandchildren; William and Maura (whom she was blessed to meet and hold in her final days) and all her nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Wednesday, May 25th 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at
Taylor Funeral Home at 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket 905-898-2100. Funeral service is on Thursday, May 26th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Church at 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket.
