It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alphonsus “Alf” Egan, peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Friday October 27, 2023, at 98 years of age. Reunited with his beloved wife, the late Catherine Egan. Cherished father of Anne (John) Burrows, Kathleen (Gordon) MacLeod, Patrick (Mary) and Margaret (the late Greg Wighton), 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Tom Egan. Survived by his dear sister Margaret Egan of London, England.
Alf’s career accomplishments include The Royal Air Force, Metropolitan London Police, The Royal Canadian Air Force, and the Government of Canada. He was a devoted family man. Dad was an avid artist, gardener, and loved building and enjoying his home at Heney Lake in Quebec.
Family and friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket on Monday November 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall.
