It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas James Eady, who left us on Monday, August 21st, 2023, in Markham at the age of 61. Doug, a dedicated partner, a loving father, a cherished brother, and a valued member of the community, has left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Loving partner of Ana Demelo. Beloved father of Stephanie and Breanna Eady. Loving uncle to Shawn, Erin and Jessica Latour. Brother of Barb Latour. Son of the late Tom and Elaine Eady.

Doug's journey was one of passion and commitment. He began his professional odyssey at Seneca College and found his calling as a tennis coach in Newmarket. Through his dedication and expertise, he became an integral part of Mayfair Clubs in Markham, serving as the head pro for numerous fruitful years. His influence extended even further as he embraced the role of head pro at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club during the past six vibrant summer seasons. Notably, he also circled back to his roots, rejoining the Newmarket Tennis Club during the winter season—a place where his remarkable journey had first begun.

His contributions to the tennis community were immeasurable, leaving an enduring impact that will resonate for years to come. Doug's unwavering dedication to his craft earned him the admiration and respect of peers, colleagues, and aspiring athletes alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Doug found solace in his love for golf. However, his greatest devotion was reserved for his beloved daughters, Stephanie and Breanna. His role as a father was a beacon of love, guidance, and unwavering support.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jack McGee and the Thornhill Golf and Country Club for their exceptional generosity and compassionate support during this challenging time.

A celebration of Doug's remarkable life will take place on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club, located at 7994 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON L4J 1W3. Let us gather to honor his memory, share stories, and find comfort in the community he so deeply cherished.

The family kindly requests donations be made to a mental health charity of choice in Doug's memory, symbolizing his enduring spirit of giving and his commitment to leaving the world a better place.

As we remember and celebrate Doug's life, let us carry forward his passion, his dedication to family, and his unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
