It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father Louis Dizes after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. His dignity and grace never wavered as he underwent treatment, always thanking his medical team of doctors, nurses, and radiologists with a smile on his face and a “God bless you" on his lips.

Louis was born on October 13, 1935 in the village of Amyklae, Sparta, Greece. At the age of 21 he came to Canada with the hope of a better life and achieving the Canadian dream. Together with his cherished wife Stacey, they married in 1959, raised a beautiful family and ran several restaurants in the GTA. Retirement was never in his vocabulary as he continued to volunteer cook at his church festivals and functions. He also kept very busy with his garden. Everyone who knew him was quite familiar with his “killer tomatoes”.

He is survived by his daughters Stella Ekonomides, Olga Dizes, his son George Dizes, his grandchildren Louis Dizes, Mimi Dizes, Chris Ekonomides and his beloved pug Lola. Louis is predeceased by his beautiful wife Stacey, his parents George and Styliani Dizes, his mother and father-in-law Olga and Kostas Konstantopoulos, brothers Jim, Peter and Steve Dizes, brothers-in-law Nick Constantopoulos, Soulis Pappas, Bill Sahlas, Harry Kallinikos, Angelo Kyriakakis, and sisters-in-law Georgia Pappas and Pat Dizes. Also predeceased are his beloved nephew George Dizes and daughter-in-law Pamela Dizes.

Louis also leaves behind his loving sisters Pota Kyriakakis, Toula Kallinikos, Dorothy Kypreos and her husband George Kypreos along with his brothers and sisters-in-law George and Diane Constantopoulos, Pat Constantopoulos, Angela Sahlas, Aleka Dizes and his many nieces and nephews who he loved so very much.
Everyone who knew our father knew that he was a kind and gentle soul. He always had a smile on his face. Throughout his life he gave more than he ever took, loving everyone he met and spreading so much positivity no matter what life held in store for him. He was an excellent role model to his children and grandchildren and epitomized the Greek word “Philotimo".

He will be missed but never forgotten. We love you dad; you are finally together with mom. Rest well until we meet again.
