Passed away peacefully at AgeCare Aurora on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 in her 99th year. Loving wife of the late Fred Dillman. Beloved mother of Paul (Brenda), Peter (Ellen – deceased), and Patti (Phil). Proud grandmother of Kara (Casey), Jason (Julie), David (Geneva – deceased), Chris (Kenelda), Kerryanne and Liam. Great-grandmother, also known as “GG”, to Chloe, Kendra, Caleb, Lexxie, Ben, Danielle, Lincoln and Ellie.
Patricia (Pat) was born in the township of Whitchurch on June 29th, 1925. She was the beloved firstborn of Joe and Lillian Smith and the proud sister to seven younger siblings. Pat was also the beloved Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. As her life unfolded, her path crossed with that of her soul mate Fred and together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. In addition to her role as a devoted wife and mother, Pat was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 426 Ladies Auxiliary. Her 70 years of volunteering in this organization showed her unwavering commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families as well as highlighted her desire to be of service to her community.
The family would like to thank the staff at AgeCare Aurora (Formerly Aurora Resthaven) for their dedication and care to Pat in her final years.
Friends may call at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home (157 Main Street South, Newmarket) on Thursday, October 26th from 11am-1pm. A service will take place in the chapel at 1pm. Burial will take place at Newmarket Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Member’s Club Room (707 Srigley Street, Newmarket).
