It is with a heavy heart that the Crann family announce the passing of Kevin Douglas Crann. Kevin passed away on March 3rd, 2024 at St. Michael’s hospital, Toronto, surrounded by his loved ones. Kevin was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland and lived an extraordinary 85 years filled with adventure, laughter, and most of all, love.

Loving husband of Ivy Crann (nee Gosse) for almost 62 years. Beloved father of Jeanette and husband Kevin Kidd and Doug and wife Marianne Crann. Proud grandfather of Amie, Dylan, Nicholas, Marissa, Amanda, Alycia, Taylor, Erin, Sean and Logan (deceased). Great Grandfather to Zachary, Owen, Amelia and Logan. Sister of Rosalind (deceased) brother of John (deceased), Byron, Ike (Aggie), Wayne (Rose). Kevin was an amazing brother-in-law to Patsy (Cyril deceased), Caron (Ellis) both deceased, Debbie (Bob), Ollie (Tony), Betty (deceased) and son of the late Katie and Isaac Crann. Along with the large family described above, he also had numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, too many to mention, all of whom Kevin loved wholeheartedly, like a true Newfie.

The family would like to thank the Collingwood Hospital and St. Michaels Trauma and Neurology ICU and Palliative Care Unit for their devoted and incredible care for Kevin.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home (157 Main Street South, Newmarket) on Thursday, March 7th from 3-6 PM. There will be a short service in the Chapel and reception with speeches commencing at approximately 4 PM. Refreshments to be provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial donations to be made in Kevin’s honour to the Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation. If you would like to – click here to donate. The Collingwood hospital has been a big part of Kevin’s care team for the 16 years he spent in Wasaga Beach, we would really appreciate your support for the community hospital.
