Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre on March 31, 2023, in his 76th year. Loving husband of Gail for 58 years. Beloved father of Jason and Rob. Proud grandfather of Karley, Myles, Karsinn, Ethan, and Keegan. Brother of Vern, John, and James. Son of the late Ivy and William. Born March 11, 1947 in London, Ontario. Robert was a highly successful executive in the automotive parts manufacturing sector for over 40 years.
Eventually earning the title of General Manager with IAC Corporation before his retirement in 2011. He was an avid car enthusiast including stock car racing in the late 1960s at Pinecrest Speedway and eventually supporting his two sons, Jason, and Robbie as they continued the tradition of racing stock cars throughout Ontario. Robert also loved to vacation in the Caribbean with his beloved wife Gail as they visited many tropical destinations together. He also had a passion for golf and fishing especially during family vacations in the summer months at Wood Lake in Muskoka. Robert could also be found at many hockey rinks, baseball diamonds or any other location where his grandchildren were taking part in their childhood activities. Always demonstrating his never-ending support and enthusiasm.
Visitation will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, Newmarket, on Tuesday, April 4 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Service will take place in the chapel on Wednesday, April 5 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.
