BUCKNELL, Stephen Nathanael

Stephen Nathanael Bucknell, "Buck" to his friends, passed away in his sleep at the age of 37 years old on January 21, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Stephen was born in Centenary Hospital on April 7, 1986. He leaves behind his mother, Anita Bucknell (maiden name Cardoza), father, Earl Bucknell, older brother, Anthony Bucknell and many uncles, aunts, and cousins (too many to name). Grandparents on both sides are deceased – maternal: Alvin and Ivy Cardoza, paternal: Lloyd Bucknell and Grace Brown. Also left behind are his many dear friends, teammates, and colleagues.

In school, Stephen made an impression on his teachers as early as Daycare and was always considered a leader. The Principal at his middle school called him "The Pied Piper," as the kids would follow him wherever he went.

Stephen always excelled in various sports, such as track and field, soccer, and basketball. But his favourite had always been basketball. He played for his high school basketball team and continued to play in basketball leagues into his adult life.

Stephen was never one to back down from a challenge, and he really enjoyed challenging others. He always had the loudest voice, laughter, and personality. He had an undeniable presence. He was always there to defend and protect those considered the "underdog" or "little guy." He always wanted to leave you better than he found you.

Stephen's family would like to thank everyone who was a part of making Stephen's life a joyful, loving, and meaningful existence.
