BROM, Dirk Jan

June 15, 1929 - April 11, 2023

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we lost our father, father-in-law, Opa and great-Opa. A man who touched the lives of many as co-founder of the Aurora Soccer Club, as caretaker with York Region School Board, and a member of the Newmarket Horticultural Society. His love of sports and gardening has encouraged and inspired us all.

An independent spirit who immigrated from Holland with his wife, Teresa, in 1953, he was known for his hard work ethic, his kindness and love of family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Jane Graham (Robin), Grace Radtke (Herb), proud grandfather to Adrian (Leah), Eric (Jamie), and Leah (Alex), great-grandfather to Brody, Sydney, and Gracie.

The family would like to thank the staff at River Glen Haven for their care and dedication.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home. At this time, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Dirk's life will be held a later date.
