After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill on Saturday January 28,2023 at the age of 73.
Beloved father of Christine Marshall (Jakeba) Newmarket. Beloved grandfather of Joshua (Shenice), Chrystal (Wesley), Jesika, Cheyndel, and Chairone. Great grandfather of Miguel and Meilani.
Survived by Mother Georgina Drover Grandfalls-Windsor NL. Brother Gordon Bownes, Grandfalls-Windsor NL. Sisters Jessie (Albert) Parsons Grand Falls-Windsor NL, and Maxine (Randy) Strickland Grandfalls Windsor, NL Step-brothers Albert (Carol) Drover, Winterton NL and Carl (Cheryl) Drover, Beeton, ON. Step sisters Donna (Wilfred) Temple, Beresford, NB and Marilyn (Warefield) Mitchell, Grand Falls- Windsor NL Predeceased by Father Lewis Bownes, Sister Louise Bownes, Daughter Cynthia Bownes, Dianne Robson mother of Christine, Stepfather Albert Drover.

Friends may call at The Roadhouse and Rose Funeral home, 157 Main Street Newmarket Visitation Wednesday February 1, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday February 2, 2023 at 10:30am, followed by interment at Aurora Cemetery.
