It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Wavell Bloomer, 80 of Innisfil, Ontario on May 7, 2023. Jim passed peacefully with his family by his side. Jim was born in Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland on August 22, 1942. Jim was a proud member of the Hollymount Pipe Band before immigrating to Canada in May of 1966.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanette (nee Massey) of 55 years. He was a loving father to his two children Andrew (Amyee) and Lisa (Alec). Cherished grandfather to Branden (Keri), Ashten, Andrew Jr, Ashlyn Donald and Kieran Donald and great grandfather to Alex and Zach.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Tom and Mary Bloomer, his brothers Robert, Arthur and Fred and survived by his brothers David, Ivan and his sisters Georgie, Mary and June. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and Canada.

Jim worked for the North York Board of Education for at least 30 years and retired at 55. He loved to garden, go for long walks in the country and enjoyed feeding and watching birds in his yard. He is remembered by many as a true gentleman with big beautiful blue eyes and a warm personality. He was a quiet man, but had a wonderful sense of humour and always had a joke to tell.

The funeral service will be held at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive Newmarket on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 3:00 p.m.
