It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joan Courtney Batley who passed away peacefully at the Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, Ontario, on August 30, 2022.
Dearly loved mother to Jillian (Jill), Aunt to niece Sharon in England and Nephew Paul and family in Ireland and Cousin Peggy in California. Predeceased by her loving husband Maurice Batley and brothers Tommy and Des Kirkpatrick.
Joan’s passion for music, dance and theatre started at a very young age. At 90 years of age, she still enjoyed dancing with her line dance family and friends, she will be remembered by her family and dance friends in Canada and back home for her beautiful and kind personality, great sense of humor and zest for life.
Sincere thanks to Dr. Robinson and all the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice for their care and compassion during these difficult times.
Cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be scheduled at a later date, as per Joan’s wishes.
