In loving memory of Ted Anderson who passed away in his sleep on Sunday, November 19, 2023 in his family home in Newmarket, Ontario. Ted was born June 16th, 1951 in Toronto Ontario to Bill and Mary Anderson. His childhood was filled with many fond family memories with his siblings Tom, Scott and Wendy.

Ted married his high school sweetheart, Heather, who was the love of his life from the moment they met.

Heather and Ted had three children – Will, Steve and Dave and four grandchildren – Alec, Abby, Sage, and Phoenix. Ted enjoyed an accomplished career in the tech sector that enabled him to retire early, and volunteer and fundraise for Easter Seals and the Special Olympics.

Ted’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father, diving for turtles with his kids and taking them to unending sporting events at ungodly hours of the day, despite their obvious mid-level (at best) talent.

Ted enjoyed a special relationship with Dave, whom he would regularly take to air shows, plane spotting at Pearson airport, and the Toronto boat show. In more recent years, Ted would light up with love anytime he had the opportunity to see his four grandchildren whether on FaceTime or in person.

Ted loved nature from the tiniest reptiles (blue tailed skinks were his favourite) to the most abstract questions about astrophysics. Ted enjoyed the craftsmanship of carpentry, and solving complex math problems. Ted took pleasure in catching the latest Leafs game with friends and also reading poetry and playing the organ.

Many of these diverse interests conjoined at his favorite place - the cottage - which he and Heather built and cultivated with loving dedication over the course of his life.

Ted was known for his special wit and sense of humor. He would hold the most pregnant of pauses, while you waited to hear something hilarious that only his mind could produce.

Ted was nothing if not unique and creative, and he’ll be missed dearly by his loved ones.
