Manha and Laiba Yusuf are continuously looking for ways to help others in our community

NewmarketToday gave the Yusuf sisters a special surprise.

Known as the ‘Community Angels’, the Yusuf sisters spread kindness through local initiatives, making our community a more positive place.

Manha and Laiba Yusuf have teamed up to combat mental health stigma, food insecurity and homelessness in the area through fundraisers, accessible programs and organized events.

The sisters have collectively worked more than 4,000 volunteer hours to make these initiatives possible.

“They are community heroes and a deep inspiration”, said Manha and Laiba’s nominator.

As the sisters have committed many hours to care for our community, we wanted to celebrate their efforts by surprising them with a Random Act of Kindness.

To make it extra special, our NewmarketToday team surprised the sisters on Laiba’s birthday.

“I really appreciate this,” said Laiba.

“I was surprised!” said Manha. “My mom told us it was going to be pizza and when I saw the team I thought they had the wrong person, it was really unexpected. Thank you very much, we really loved the surprise.”

Thank you to our generous sponsors, Party City Newmarket, S&B Beauty Nail Spa and The Little Red Bake Shop for making this Random Act of Kindness possible.

Our nomination form is always open to nominate someone in the community who selflessly gives of themselves despite challenges or hardships, is positive in the face of adversity, or is just plain extraordinary and deserves a special surprise.
