Our mission at NewmarketToday is to strengthen the communities we serve and in the spirit of strengthening the Newmarket community, we are spearheading a Holiday Fundraising Drive in support of Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer (OPACC).

The holidays can be a stressful time for many families and now more than ever, OPACC needs our help to provide support for families impacted by a childhood cancer diagnosis.

In response to that need, NewmarketToday pledged to match community donations to OPACC made through our online pop-up store between now and Dec. 15 at 12 p.m.

But that’s not all.

We know that Newmarket is full of caring individuals and businesses who would generously donate to this initiative as well. So, we contacted a number of local businesses to see if they would also like to match reader contributions with a cash donation.

As a result, for every donation made, each dollar will be matched four times and all proceeds will go directly to OPACC.

That means your $25 donation will turn into a $125 donation!

Here is how you can buy a gift card in support of OPACC:

  • Log in to your NewmarketToday account (or register for free).
  • Select the donation button and enter your credit card details.
  • Check the 'Confirm’ button and click ‘Donate’ to confirm your purchase.
  • That's it, you did it! You gave back to our community this holiday season.

Thanks to the following businesses who joined us in matching each donation: Aurora Kids Dentistry, Dave Starr Real Estate and International Safety.

NewmarketToday is proud to lead this worthwhile cause in an effort to alleviate the financial and emotional toll of a cancer diagnosis on families in our community, particularly as the holiday season draws near.

Programs like this and support from businesses and community members - like you - help us to give back to Newmarket.
