Czechia edges Switzerland 3-2 to earn bronze at world women's hockey championship

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Denisa Krizova scored twice, including the winner, as Czechia edged Switzerland 3-2 to capture the bronze medal at the world women's hockey championship Sunday afternoon.

It marked the second straight bronze-medal showdown between the two teams, with Czechia also emerging victorious last year.

Michaela Pejzlova had the other goal for Czechia.

Lara Stalder and Lena Marie Lutz replied for Switzerland.

Earlier, Finland defeated Sweden 3-1 in the fifth-place game.

Jenni Hiirikoski, Kiira Yrjanen and Noora Tulus scored for Finland. Anna Kjellbin had the lone goal for Sweden.
