Festive lights make for magical Christmas tour

It would warm the cockles of Clark Griswold's heart.

Some Newmarket residents celebrate the festive season by decking their halls, so to speak, with much razzle and dazzle, to your obvious delight and pride.

And...

They want your old bathrobe, shoes, oven mitts, pillows

Shared 665 times, and counting | Dec. 28, 2018

Newmarket is embracing 'out with old' as the new year approaches, and greeting with enthusiasm the news that the Town of Newmarket has partnered with Diabetes Canada on a new textile recycling program that will reduce the garbage going to our landfills.

Your old bathrobe (ahem, a hint to at least one Newmarket husband), shoes, oven mitts, pillows and more can be dropped in the bins at the Magna Centre (800 Mulock Dr.), Ray Twinney Recreation Complex (100 Eagle St. W.) and the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall (200 Doug Duncan Dr.).

A complete list of accepted items for recycling can be found here.

It's a good deed that supports Diabetes Canada’s research, education and advocacy programs, and the D Camps, summer camps for children with type 1 diabetes.
