You can mark spring's arrival and support local businesses at the online Newmarket Home & Lifestyle Showcase from March 26 to May 16.
Produced by the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, the event spotlights an array of local businesses, including landscaping, home decor, wellness and finance.
While the chamber’s popular in-person home show — the largest in York Region — has been put on hold for the second year due to the pandemic, the virtual event remains a great way for consumers to connect with companies, do research on upcoming projects and discover local products and services, said Tracy Walter, president and CEO of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce.
“Shopping online is at an all-time high, and we want to keep those dollars flowing into our local economy,” she said. “We all know COVID-19 has been devastating for businesses. The showcase enables participating businesses to garner solid leads easily and affordably.”
The exhibitors create virtual profiles, showcasing their business, services and offerings, and can take part in Zoom chats and video features. As well, there are interactive workshops, contests and show floor specials.
TV personality and gardening expert Frankie Flowers will be among the featured guests taking to the online stage, on March 27 at 11 a.m. with tips on vegetable gardens.
Kempenfelt Windows & Doors is the presenting sponsor, while Downsizing Diva, Nhance and Trayvino Wines are signature sponsors. Upper Canada Mall is the community sponsor, the Newmarket Main Street District BIA is the Main St. sponsor and Neighbourhood Network is the not-for-profit sponsor. The online event will include a number of community not-for-profit organizations, Walter added.
