NEWS RELEASE
YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
*************************
The York Catholic District School Board is one of Ontario’s top-performing school boards. It is preparing to welcome new families for the 2021-22 school year, which will start on Sept. 8. New student registrations, as well as assessments for secondary students who are new to Canada, will take place online throughout the summer months.

The admissions department is accepting online registrations for kindergarten to Grade 12 students at www.ycdsb.ca/admissions. To find out which publicly funded Catholic schools serve your local area, please visit: http://locator.ycdsb.ca/.

Parents/guardians need to provide the following documents to register their children:
  • Proof of age
  • Proof of status in Canada
  • Proof of residency (property tax bill or proof of purchase or lease/rental agreement and utility bill or phone bill)
  • Proof of English Separate School Support, such as property tax bill or MPAC Property Assessment Notice (school support forms can be provided, if necessary)
  • (For elementary school only) Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate (for child or parent).

Assessments for secondary students who are new to Canada need to be completed before a student can register for high school. As a result of COVID-19, assessments will take place virtually throughout July and August instead of in person at the Catholic Education Centre, pending further notice from York Region Public Health.
