Weather advisory in effect for:
    •    Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region

Winter weather travel advisory in effect. A risk of freezing rain followed by snowfall is expected.

Hazards:
Snowfall accumulations of up to 10 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 1 to 3 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility in snow and local blowing snow.
Risk of freezing rain with ice accretion of a few millimeters possible.

Timing:
Freezing rain is possible this morning before transitioning to snow early this afternoon. Snow will taper to flurries or drizzle this evening with a chance of freezing drizzle.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Winter weather travel advisory in effect. A risk of freezing rain followed by snowfall is expected.

Hazards:
Snowfall accumulations of up to 10 cm with local amounts near 15 cm possible. Peak snowfall rates of 1 to 3 cm per hour.

Reduced visibility in snow or blowing snow.

Risk of freezing rain with ice accretion of a few millimeters possible.

Southeasterly wind gusts near 70 km/h. The strongest winds are expected near the shores of Lake Ontario.

Timing:
Brief freezing rain is possible this morning before transitioning to snow near noon. Snow will taper to flurries or drizzle early this evening. Strong wind gusts diminishing this evening.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
