Warrant issued for suspect in car dealership fraud investigation

A warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old male who committed personation frauds in Ajax and York Region.

Pascal Poirier, 25, of no fixed address, is wanted for fraud over $5,000 (three counts), personation with intent (three counts); possess identity document (three counts); utter forged document three counts, possess counterfeit mark and dispose property for fraud (two counts).

During May 2018, Poirier impersonated a Quebec resident and acquired financing on motor vehicles valued at over $176,000. Using counterfeit identity documents, these vehicles were fraudulently obtained from dealerships in Ajax and in York Region.

Poirier is described as male, white, 25, with dark hair and a medium build.

Durham Regional Police Service investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Poirier. His whereabouts are unknown, but he has ties to Quebec and New Brunswick.

Poirier is asked to contact a lawyer and turn himself in to police. If you know his whereabouts, police are asking that you call your local police service to report his location.
