Local independent grocer Vince's Market is hosting a barbecue in support of Community and Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS) at its Sharon location Friday.

"Vince’s takes seriously the challenges faced by our older residents, which is why we are supporting an organization committed to advocating for and delivering high-quality, person-centred home and community services to older adults and caregivers in York Region and South Simcoe," according to a news advisory.

The barbecue takes place Friday, June 23 from noon until 4 p.m. at 19103A Leslie St. with hot dogs, sausages and beverages, with donations of any amount welcome.

Representatives from CHATS will also be on hand to discuss the organization’s many services for seniors who wish to continue aging at home longer, while staying safe and maintaining a better quality of independent living.
