Southlake Regional Health Centre called a code grey this morning due to a power supply issue caused by a small electrical fire.

The fire was immediately extinguished and there was no threat to the safety of staff or patients, says Southlake.

As a result of the fire, there was power failure throughout Southlake's east building, affecting the operation of some clinical units and elevators.

"Some clinical areas were impacted, and some appointments and procedures may need to be rescheduled," said Lindsey Furlanic, communications strategist for Southlake. "Southlake staff are contacting any patients who were affected."

She added that an incident management team was immediately established with leaders across the hospital to share progress updates due to the issue. All issues were resolved by noon.
