Road work coming to Yonge, Leslie streets in Newmarket

Lane reductions expected from May to mid-July

Construction season has arrived and Newmarket motorists can expect lane reductions on Leslie and Yonge streets over the next few months. 

The region announced road closures on the two roads for construction from early May to mid-July. The closures will be on Leslie from Mulock Drive to south of Gorham Street and on Yonge from St. John's Sideroad to the south of Sawmill Valley Drive/Savage Road. Both roads will remain open to traffic, but lane restrictions will come into effect.

The work will occur on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Paving will occur on weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
