The seventh annual NewRoads LakeRide has raised more than $100,000 for mental health programs at Southlake Foundation.

Riders took to the roads on Sept. 25, with world-class athletes leading the pack. Participants raised funds ahead of the ride, totalling $109,661.

Michael Croxon, CEO of NewRoads Automotive Group, said he was proud of the success of the ride and to be supporting this cause.

"The mental health initiative is important to us at NewRoads and it is something that we will continue to support through our LakeRide efforts," he said.

He presented the cheque to the team from the Southlake Foundation Oct. 25. The foundation said it is grateful for the funds, which will go toward mental health care at Southlake Regional Health Centre.

"The support from our community helps give mental health patients the privacy, peace and dignity they need to begin their healing journey, right here, close to home," it said.

This year's donation is up slightly from 2021 when $106,139 was raised.
