Pottery and Pints event could unleash your internal artist

Burnt Offerings Studio presents its Craft vs. Crafty Series: Pottery and Pints Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Market Brewing Company from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Whether you are artistically accomplished or creatively challenged, you’ll have a great time making your own pottery keepsake while enjoying a pint with friends.

Burnt Offerings Studio presents its Craft vs. Crafty Series: Pottery and Pints Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Market Brewing Company from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Newmarket’s Cathy Gifford, owner and operator of Burnt Offerings Studio, has been a full-time potter/sculptor for 30 years, teaching primarily in schools, libraries and at birthday parties.

“Partnering up with Market Brewing Company has been a wonderful experience. It has been so rewarding to see the ‘big kids’ discover their inner artist. The atmosphere at Pottery and Pints is so fun and lively, people are having a great time creating their own special keepsake,” Gifford said.

From beer steins and vases to candleholders and bowls, the sky is the limit for what you can design using the stoneware kiln-fired clay that is food friendly and safe for the microwave and dishwasher.

“My girls and I will help you create a really amazing project that you will be proud of,” said Gifford.

Cost for the event is $30 and includes pottery lesson, supplies, materials and a pint.

Pottery and Pints tickets can be purchased at the Market Brewing Taproom, 17775 Leslie St., Newmarket, or online here.

Wickedly Sinful will be on site serving a variety of gourmet poutine and other delicious treats.
