The Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre is reinventing the downward dog pose at its new doggy yoga event.

The Provincial Education & Animal Centre in Stouffville, just outside Newmarket, invites dog owners to take part in a “Doga” (dog+yoga) event on Saturday, Jan. 26. There will be two Doga classes available and will be run by an experienced Doga instructor. The classes are one-hour long and will run at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. All participants will receive a goody bag and yoga mat, courtesy of Woof-a-palooza.

To participate, dogs must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccine and be on a leash. The cost to participate in the class is $25, with proceeds going back to support animals in need at the Provincial Education & Animal Centre.

“We are looking forward to inviting our community to join us for this meditative experience with their pets,” says Elizabeth Westover, Manager, Provincial Education & Animal Centre. “It will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with our community in an engaging and centred activity.”

Space is limited to 12 per class and spots are filling up fast, so register now by visiting peac.ontariospca.ca. For more information, contact Cassandra at [email protected].
