Update: At about 11:47 p.m., NT Power announced that all power had been restored for customers in Newmarket.

Update, 8 p.m.: Power has been restored for approximately 2,500 customers. The power company also said the cause of the outage is believed to be an issue at a distribution station.
Work is ongoing to restore power for the remaining customers and NT Power said some five to 10 minute long outages in other areas may be required during this repair.
The estimated time of restoration for those without power is one to two hours.

A power outage is affecting about 4,200 residents Sunday evening, NT Power said. The cause is unknown at this time,
In a tweet at about 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 25, the power company said that an outage is "affecting 4,200 customers East and West of Main Street North Between Davis Drive and Green Lane. A crew has been dispatched to investigate."

According to NT Power's online outage dashboard, the estimated time of the outage is also unknown.
In a local Facebook group, residents have been weighing in on whether or not they have power in their neighbourhood with a number of people claiming to be affected.
One commentor in the group said they called NT Power and was told the estimated restoration time could be more than three hours however the company has not yet provided a time publicly.
