NEWMARKET STAGE COMPANY
*************************

After 22 months of being shut down, Newmarket Stage Company is finally opening up again in early 2022. Come join us for our first post-COVID production, Opal's Husband by Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner John Patrick.

Opal's Husband is a hilarious comedy that is part of the ever popular "Opal" series about the lovable and irrepressible Opal Kronkie – a colourful, naive middle-aged woman with a bit of a hoarding problem.

You may recall our 2016 production of Opal's Million Dollar Duck. Our very own Susan Lane will reprise her role as Opal, as will director Teri Hallatt and producer Sue Meacock.

This time, our zany and lovable heroine writes away to find a man for her best friend Rosie. As you can imagine, complications ensue when Rosie rejects her would-be suitor. Opal reluctantly agrees to marry him in order to keep the old man from the clutches of his scheming daughter and son-in-law.

Newmarket Stage Company will be performing Opal's Husband at the Royal Canadian Legion – Stage 426, (707 Srigley St, Newmarket, L3Y 1X4)

Performances with limited seating will take place on Jan. 27, 28, 29, February 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 (evening 8 p.m.), as well as Jan/ 29, Feb/ 5 (matinee – 2 p.m.). Please note that we are following all COVID protocols to make sure that our patrons, cast and crew are all safe during this time.

To book your advance tickets, please call our box office at 289-500-2114 between noon and 5 p.m. for ticket information amd purchases.
