Ryszard Dyja of Richmond Hill is on Cloud 9 after winning the LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $108,925 in the Sept. 20 draw.

Dyja, a 68-year-old father and grandfather, said he plays LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX weekly. “I had some tickets to check and the first couple I scanned a few small wins – $20, $5 and a free play,” he recalled while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I scanned my last ticket, I almost had a heart attack! I felt like my life flashed before my eyes – I was so excited!”

Dyja said he began running around his house screaming with joy. “I was on Cloud 9!’ he said. “Life is good – life is really good! I’m shaking just uttering these words out of my mouth – that’s how joyous I am,” he said.

He plans to travel to Australia and Poland to visit his mother and daughter. “I’m going to take care of my mother.”

“It’s a miracle!” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill.
