ST. ANDREW'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

A primary mission of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church is continuing outreach to the community. Two of the church groups with a heart for mission and outreach are the Women’s Fellowship, which began in 1986, and the Men’s Fellowship, which began in 1991.

Both groups were formed to provide opportunities of ‘giving back’ to the community, while enjoying Christian social fellowship.

The Men’s Fellowship made a recent donation to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the Women’s Fellowship recently forwarded food offerings to local Newmarket missions, as well as Evangel Hall, a mission of the Presbyterian Church In Canada addressing homelessness and poverty in Toronto.

The Crosslinks Street Outreach Program is a mobile van service that uses a harm reduction approach, providing services to residents of York Region experiencing homelessness and those living at low and moderate-income levels.

Clients are able to receive support from the van for basic needs and life-saving services in a manner that fosters self-worth and dignity.

Street Outreach coordinator Mary Ann Proulx encourages us all to ‘stay strong, stay positive, and stay safe.’
