Newmarket's outdoor rink opens today, Dec. 11 for residents only.

Due to restrictions aimed at stemming the spread of COVID-19, skaters must reserve spots in advance on the Town of Newmarket website.

New time slots will be available each Friday at 6 a.m. for the following week.

At this time, outdoor skating is only open to Newmarket residents due to limited space available. 

There will be a separate entrance and exit, strict capacity limits and skaters will be required to complete a health screening questionnaire. 

Rules and Reminders   

  • Skating sessions are limited to 45 minutes.
  • All participants must complete an online health screening questionnaire on site. Save time by completing it ahead of time at newmarket.ca/covidscreening and show it to the staff member when you arrive. 
  • Face coverings are required while waiting in line but not when skating.
  • Helmets are strongly recommended for all participants.
  • Shinny is not permitted at any time.
  • Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a guardian at least 16 years of age or older. Parents not skating but remaining within the fenced area of the skating feature will be required to register as a participant and will count toward the capacity limit of 25.
  • Parents waiting outside the fenced-in area are not required to register as a participant.
  • Physical distancing is required at all times.

  • Monday to Friday: 5 to 10 p.m. 
  • Saturday to Sunday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Holiday Hours 

  • Dec. 19 to 23: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Dec. 24 to 26: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 27 to 31: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Jan. 1: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 
  • Jan. 2 to 3: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • March 15 to 19: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
